Our Story
Our Community
From our pristine glacier water to our majestic views of Mt. Rainier, we’re privileged to live here. You can find our residents enjoying our private beach & park on a hot day to a movie in the park on a cool evening to pumpkin carving contests in the fall or waking up at 5AM to ski perfect glass. We believe in fostering a tight-knit community of families creating multigenerational memories. Everything we do is driven by the desire to create a neighborhood where families can come together to play & grow. |
Local History
Located in the small town of Lake Tapps, Driftwood Point is nestled in on a small North West island of the lake. Its waters, filled by the White River, create a 4.5 square mile lake with 45 miles of shoreline. Lake Tapps was formed in 1911 as a reservoir for generation of hydro-electric power by Puget Power Energy. Originally the area consisted of four separate lakes, Lake Kirtley, Lake Tapps, Crawford Lake & Church Lake. Two and a half miles of earthen dams allowed the water level of Lake Tapps to raise 35 feet joining the four lakes together. |

Volunteer
Driftwood Point has a strong culture of volunteer work. Volunteers fill our board positions, plan events, organize fundraisers, help at events, clean the community, care for the park and more. See the members page for more information. |
Plan
Many of our community events are planned by homeowners and supported by Driftwood Point Association. If you have a great idea for a local event or activity, reach out! We're always ready to connect the community in new ways. |
Participate
One of the best qualities of Driftwood Point is the sense of community. Join us for community events, board meetings and on volunteer projects to meet your neighbors, have some fun and give back to the community. The more the merrier. |
